- 60 vehicles involved in recall
- Compliance plate shows an incorrect GVM
- Production dates range from March to June 2021
Toyota Australia has issued a recall notice for 60 of its HiLux models due to an incorrectly printed second stage compliance label, providing the wrong Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) for the affected vehicles.
Units affected were produced between March and June 2021, with the recall only applying to the 4×2 SR5 Hi-Rider, 4×4 SR5, Rogue and Rugged X variants.
Toyota says 58 of the 60 vehicles show a GVM of 3000kg instead of the correct 3050kg, while the remaining two units also show a GVM of 3000kg despite the actual figure being 2980kg.

While it is not an immediate safety issue, Toyota has urged all owners to keep their contact details up to date so they can be notified of the issue, offering to affix the correct label free of charge, a process which should take under half an hour.
Toyota’s recall campaign helpline is open from 8am-6pm Monday to Friday on 1800 987 366, allowing owners to check whether their vehicle is affected.
