Hyundai has reintroduced the Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink as the flagship version of its three-row hybrid SUV.
As with the previous-generation Palisade, the new Calligraphy Black Ink shares its key equipment with the already well-equipped Calligraphy model, but replaces the exterior brightwork with an all-black styling theme.
The Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink features black finishes on the grille surround, lower bumpers, sill mouldings, window surrounds, D-pillar trim, roof rails and badges. The standard 21-inch alloy wheels are retained, but trade their two-tone machined finish for gloss black.

Exterior colour choices for the Black Ink model are limited to Abyss Black or Creamy White, with the regular Calligraphy’s six other exterior colour choices off-limits for the monochrome Black Ink.
On the inside, the Calligraphy Black Ink retains a nappa leather interior, but again only in black, with no access to the Calligraphy’s optional brown, dark charcoal, or two-tone navy and light grey interior trims.
To complement the black leather, interior trim pieces, including the door handles, dashboard decor strip, air vents and switchgear, also feature a metallic black finish. The Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink is available with eight seats, in a 2+3+3 layout, or a seven-seat version with 2+2+3 seating, including second-row captain’s chairs.
Engine and drivetrain specifications remain unchanged with a 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol hybrid producing 245kW and 480Nm combined, a six-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and claimed fuel consumption of 6.8L/100km.

The Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink also includes standard Calligraphy equipment such as 18-way driver and 12-way passenger electrically adjustable front seats, first- and second-row seat heating and ventilation, heated third-row seats, rear door sunshades, privacy glass, a powered steering column, and more.
Pricing for the flagship Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink start from $2572 more than the regular Calligraphy but includes premium paint (normally a $750 option).
The Pallisade Calligraphy Black Ink is priced from $92,400 plus on-road costs with eight seats, or $1000 more with seven seats. The Calligraphy starts from $89,828 +ORCs, or $1000 more with seven seats, while the base model Palisade Elite starts from $76,500 +ORCs.
