Chery Australia has officially opened reservations for its upcoming Stockman plug-in hybrid ute, with the first examples now confirmed to reach customers from February 1, 2027. Customers who reserve a Stockman online from October 1 will receive a $2000 Bunnings gift card and three years or 45,000km of complimentary scheduled servicing.
Pricing and full specifications for the Stockman are yet to be released, with Chery saying further details and an official sales launch date will be announced closer to its showroom arrival. However, plenty is already known about the brand’s first ute for Australia.

Previously going by its internal ‘KP31’ name, the Stockman will use a 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel plug-in hybrid powertrain producing combined outputs of 350kW and 800Nm. The battery size is yet to be announced, but Chery claims up to 100km of electric-only driving range on the more lenient NEDC test cycle, while its 3500kg braked towing capacity puts it in line with many of Australia’s established dual-cab utes.
The Stockman measures 5450mm long, 2010mm wide and 1890mm tall, making it a sizeable vehicle, even in the ever-growing ute segment. Off-road equipment will include three differential locks, all-terrain tyres, crawl control and a tight-turn assist function. Chery has also previously confirmed other equipment, including a head-up display, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging and a premium audio system.
“Opening reservations for the Stockman marks an important milestone for Chery in Australia,” said Chery Australia chief operating officer Lucas Harris. “We’ve had a phenomenal response to the Stockman since the first announcement, and the reservation program gives customers the opportunity to secure their place ahead of the official sales launch, while also receiving a valuable pre-launch offer.”
Australian pricing and full specifications for the Chery Stockman will be announced closer to launch, with customer deliveries commencing from February 1, 2027.
