Owners will also have the option to upgrade to a more advanced home charger featuring; a touch-display, Wi-Fi and Ethernet compatibility, smartphone app connectivity, and dynamic load management – which measures their home's live energy usage and automatically adjusts the charge in harmony with the local grid, thus avoiding peak time and even blackouts.

The incentives will be complemented by a further ownership element, set to be announced alongside pricing at the launch of the Lexus UX 300e later this month.

The model will also come with three years of complimentary membership of the Japanese luxury carmaker’s Encore Platinum owner benefits program, joining the Lexus LX, Lexus LC and Lexus LS.

The program allows participants to borrow another Lexus four times in their membership period, and for up to eight days at a time when travelling interstate or to New Zealand – these can be booked for collection at the Qantas valet of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Auckland and Queenstown airports.

Alternatively, if the UX300e doesn’t suit a particular need, members can book another model, such as the LX large SUV on demand for collection at a number of Lexus dealerships nationwide – the UX 300e will be added as an available Lexus on Demand vehicle, for members who want to try the brand’s first BEV.

Other benefits include free valet parking on eight occasions at Westfield shopping centres across Australia, as well as specifically Chadstone shopping centre in Melbourne.

The UX 300e shares some equipment with the existing petrol powered UX200 and the mild-hybrid UX250h and will be available in Luxury and Sport Luxury trim.

Local pricing will be announced at launch.
