The all-new 2027 Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake has been confirmed for Australia with both hybrid and full battery electric powertrains destined for local showrooms.

A Mercedes-Benz Australia spokesperson confirmed the long-roof version of its all-new CLA range will land here in the fourth quarter (November-December) of this year. No other details were forthcoming.

“To give our customer even more choice within the CLA range, we will be launching the Shooting Brake. As we get closer to launch we’ll provide further details of that.”

The CLA Shooting Brake went on sale in Europe at the end of 2025, initially available as an electric car, earning it the distinction of the first-ever electric station wagon from Mercedes-Benz. Mild-hybrid variants followed soon after.

Australia is set to get both mild-hybrid and electric variants of the CLA station wagon although the line-up is still to be confirmed.

In Europe, mild hybrid variants feature a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 1.3kWh battery. A new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmits power to either the front or all four wheels depending on the model.

The battery electric CLA Shooting Brake with EQ Technology is available in three variants in Europe – CLA 200, CLA 250+ and CLA 350 4Matic with claimed WLTP driving ranges of 516km to 761km depending on the model.

Pricing in Germany starts from €48,249 (A$78,322) for the CLA 200, €55,858 (A$90,674) for CLA 250 and €60,380 (A$98,014) for the range-topping CLA 350 4Matic.

Mercedes-Benz Australia will confirm final Australian specifications and pricing closer to the launch later this year.
