The 2027 Polestar 4 Coupé range is set to be joined by a more practical station wagon variant, called the Polestar 4 SUV. The Chinese-owned brand has issued a new teaser for the SUV variant and confirmed that global sales are set to commence on September 2 2026, with deliveries slated to begin before the end of the year.
Like the Polestar 4 Coupé, which offers a five-door liftback form that blurs the line between an SUV and a four-door coupe, the Polestar 4 SUV appears to be closer to a traditional wagon than a true SUV, but will keep the moderately raised ride and lower body cladding of the Coupé version.
The most controversial aspect of the Polestar 4 Coupé – its windowless tailgate – is set to be dropped for the SUV version, however. Instead, a traditional tailgate with a rear window will offer improved visibility and the video-feed interior rear-view mirror is likely to be retained to ensure rearward visibility even when fully loaded.

The second teaser for the new variant of the Polestar 4 range, and the Coupé already on sale
Polestar has confirmed that the Polestar 4 SUV will arrive with a chassis tune that matches recently announced changes to the Coupé model, with high-capacity dampers, polyurethane rebound stops, and revised spring and damper tuning for the suspension, plus improved steering precision.
The Polestar 4 SUV will be the first Polestar model for Australia manufactured in South Korea, unlike the Coupé, which is currently built in China.
Polestar has confirmed that Rear Motor and Dual Motor SUV variants will be available, matching the line-up for the Coupé, with a claimed 630km driving range from the longest-range Rear Motor model, 10km more than the 620km claim of the Rear Motor Coupé sold in Australia.
Specifications for the Dual Motor model are yet to be confirmed, other than 400kW peak power output, matching the Coupé, and a 400-volt electrical architecture.
Further details about the Polestar 4 are expected closer to its September debut.
