BMW has expanded its iX3 electric medium SUV range with the new high-performance M60 xDrive model, which produces 450kW of power and 875Nm of torque. Revealed alongside the new iX4 electric SUV coupe, which will also be available in M60 form, the iX3 M60 is the most powerful version of BMW’s Neue Klasse electric SUV yet, with a big performance increase over the existing iX3 50 xDrive.
The additional grunt comes courtesy of an upgraded electric drivetrain, including a more powerful rear electric motor, and enables the iX3 M60 to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds. That’s a full second quicker than the 50 xDrive, and its top speed also increases to 240km/h.
Despite the lift in performance, the iX3 M60 still returns an impressive driving range of up to 754km on the WLTP cycle, compared with up to 805km for the 50 xDrive. Both models feature a 108.7kWh battery and an 800-volt architecture for DC fast charging at up to 400kW.

Beyond the additional power, the M60 introduces a number of chassis upgrades to improve handling and driver engagement. Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers, variable sport steering, an M Sport differential and upgraded M Sport brakes are all included as well so that the iX3 drives like a performance BMW should.
Externally, the M60 features new 21-inch M alloy wheels, M-specific exterior detailing and distinctive yellow lighting apparently inspired by BMW’s motorsport vehicles. Inside, a new sports steering wheel, upgraded sports seats and additional M-specific displays and driving modes also feature.
Production of the iX3 M60 will commence in the first half of 2027, with international order books opening in January. Australian availability is yet to be confirmed, although the iX4 M60 has been confirmed for Australia sometime in 2027, so it’s likely that the iX3 M60 will also launch here at some point.
