Hyundai has expanded its Australian SUV lineup with the introduction of new BLK Edition variants of the Kona small and Tucson medium SUVs, offering additional equipment and distinctive black exterior styling.

Based on the mid-range Elite variants of both models, the new special editions are available exclusively with front-wheel-drive hybrid powertrains, with prices starting at $42,600 before on-road costs for the Kona and $51,000 for the Tucson. While the Kona BLK Edition will be offered as a regular addition to the range, production of the Tucson BLK Edition is limited to just 750 examples for Australia.

Both models receive a selection of black exterior styling elements, including darkened alloy wheels, window surrounds and model badging, alongside additional interior equipment.

For the Kona, the BLK Edition adds 18-inch black alloy wheels, a grey front bumper garnish, silver front and rear skid plates, black window surrounds and black Kona badging. Inside, buyers gain a Bose premium sound system, satellite navigation and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display cluster, in addition to the existing Elite’s leather-appointed upholstery, heated front seats and wireless phone charging.

The Tucson BLK Edition receives 19-inch black alloy wheels, black front and rear bumper garnishes, black window trim and black Tucson badging. It also gets a Bose audio system, while retaining the Elite’s 12.3-inch touchscreen, digital driver’s display, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats and powered tailgate. It’s also the first vehicle sold in Australia to be produced in Vietnam.

Despite being black-themed, both vehicles are also available in a limited selection of exterior colours designed to complement their darker styling elements, including white, grey, red and blue options.
