Hyundai has unveiled a new limited-edition version of its i30 Sedan N, with just 200 examples of the MONOCHROME confirmed for Australia from November 2026.

The special edition introduces a more subdued appearance to Hyundai‘s high-performance sedan, replacing some of the regular model’s contrasting exterior details with a coordinated monochromatic finish.

Australian buyers will have a choice of two exterior colours, Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue, with both manual and dual-clutch automatic transmissions available.

Exterior changes include redesigned front and rear bumper details, revised side sills, brake callipers and rear diffuser, along with newly designed forged alloy wheels.

Carbon-fibre mirror housings and a rear spoiler provide additional visual differences from the regular i30 Sedan N.

Inside, the MONOCHROME receives an exclusive Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel with black-finished buttons, complemented by Alcantara detailing on selected interior surfaces.

Hyundai says the design was developed in response to customer demand for a less conspicuous version of its performance sedan, retaining its sporting character without the more prominent visual accents traditionally associated with N models.

“Having listened to customers’ voices for a toned-down high-performance model, we restrained visual emphases and focused on form, texture and material,” said Joon Park, Hyundai Motor Company’s vice-president and head of N Management Group.

The MONOCHROME also draws inspiration from Hyundai N’s motorsport history, although its changes appear focused primarily on styling and materials rather than mechanical upgrades.

Hyundai has not announced any changes to the engine, suspension or performance figures, suggesting the special edition will retain the regular i30 Sedan N’s established mechanical package.

The company has also yet to confirm Australian pricing, with further details expected closer to the November showroom arrival.

Australia will be among the first markets to receive the MONOCHROME, alongside South Korea and Canada. Korean sales are scheduled to begin in late October, with Hyundai indicating that additional international markets could follow.

The Australian allocation of 200 vehicles will be split between manual and automatic versions, although the exact breakdown has not been disclosed.

The MONOCHROME adds another limited-production option to Hyundai’s N performance range, targeting enthusiasts who prefer a more discreet interpretation of the i30 Sedan N’s familiar styling.
