Tesla is recalling almost 3000 examples of its Model 3 vehicle in Australia due to a fault with its Track Mode.
The issue affects 2799 cars covering model years 2018 to 2022.
Due to a software issue, when operated in Track Mode, the vehicle does not display the speed correctly. As a result, the driver may not adequately be able to determine the speed of the vehicle which could lead to them having an accident.

Tesla owners will receive a notification on their cars that an over-the-air update, which will provide a measurement of speed whilst in Track Mode, can be downloaded and installed.
A list of VINs for the affected vehicles is available here.
