Snapshot
- Current Picanto recalled
- Total of 9763 units affected
- Kia will provide an update free of charge
Kia’s Picanto city car has been recalled due to a minor fault, making it non-compliant with Australian Design Rules.
Affecting a total of 9763 examples built between 2020 and 2022, the Kia Picanto is under recall due to the an issue with its software, where if the rear fog lamp is turned on and the ignition is off, an audible warning won’t sound when the driver’s door opens.
While it may not seem like a major safety issue, the fault means the Picanto isn’t compliant with ADR 13/00.

Kia is urging customers to contact their nearest dealership to arrange an appointment where the instrument cluster software will be updated, free of charge.
Alternatively, anyone who is unsure as to whether their car is affected can contact Kia’s customer service team on 131 542 or email [email protected].
