The 2023 Hyundai Palisade has launched in Australia, with local pricing and features confirmed for the large SUV.

With the outgoing Palisade taking fifth place in the most recent outing of Wheels Car of the Year, big things are expected of the 2023 model, which will launch in Australia next month starting from $65,900.

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade has now been awarded a five-star ANCAP safety rating, up from four stars for the previous model. This story has been updated to reflect the change and you can read our safety story by clicking the link below.

Engine, drivetrain and fuel economy

While the 2023 Palisade gets a facelift, its powertrain options remain the same. Both variants are offered with a choice of two engines – one petrol, one diesel.

The petrol-powered Palisade features a 3.8-litre, naturally-aspirated V6 under its bonnet, producing 217kW and 355Nm, with power sent to the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

For the diesel, its 2.2-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder setup is unchanged, pushing out 147kW and 440Nm to all four wheels via the same eight-speed auto as its petrol counterpart.

Hyundai has confirmed fuel economy figures will carry across from the 2022 model, with the petrol engine consuming 10.7L/100km, while the diesel is able to manage 7.3L/100km.
