Bentley has made its upcoming Bentayga EWB (extended wheelbase) even more opulent with the First Edition variant joining the line-up.

Set to only be available for the first 12 months of the Bentayga EWB's production run, the First Edition will be given a number of exclusive Bentley features which won't be replicated on other grades of the luxury SUV.

For starters, First Edition badging is prominent around the exterior, standing out just as much as the unique 22-inch, 10-spoke directional wheels and bright lower bumper grilles – each feature remaining the only constant among a choice of over 16 standard exterior colours and more than 60 when including the extended paint range.

First Edition contrast stitching and embroidery adorns the quilted seats, as two-tone colour splits highlighting the range of upholstrey piping and hand cross-stitching.

Bentley says its full range of veneers is available, allowing the choice of high-gloss wood and open-pore options such as; crown cut walnut, dark burr walnut and koa, although more contemporary materials (including the pearl-like piano linen by Mulliner or dark tint diamond brushed aluminium) are also on the options list.

Mood lighting through LED lights with 30 user-controlled colours helps to set the mood inside the cabin, with a heated steering wheel added as a useful creature comfort.

Rear seat passengers can benefit from Bentley's optional entertainment system, a piece of non-standard equipment which lets those in the second row to stream content from their WiFi-enabled device to a pair of 10.1-inch touchscreens behind the front headrests.

Bentley's Australian arm hasn't confirmed whether the First Edition Bentayga EWBs will be launched locally, although it's likely the 12-month allocation could be snapped up soon by affluent overseas buyers.
