Chinese automotive giant Chery has confirmed yet another new brand for Australia, with its premium Exlantix division set to launch locally in the first half of 2027. Set to be the latest addition to Chery’s rapidly expanding Australian presence, Exlantix will sit above the company’s existing offshoots like Jaecoo and target premium Chinese rivals such as Zeekr and Denza.
The confirmation was made to Australian media at an event in Shanghai, where the company displayed right-hand-drive versions of its first two Australian-bound models: the ET large SUV and ES GT wagon.
But Exlantix isn’t a new brand. It actually operates under the Exeed name in several overseas markets and in China, but trademark restrictions mean it will be known as Exlantix in Australia and New Zealand. Exlantix is already used internationally for the company’s electrified vehicles.
The first two models locally will offer both fully electric and plug-in hybrid drivetrains, though exact local specifications and pricing have yet to be announced.

The Exlantix ET is a large five-seat SUV that measures almost five metres long and overseas versions offer both electric and range-extender drivetrains. The ES GT, meanwhile, is a sleek wagon that offers a three-motor electric drivetrain in China for a claimed 0-100km/h time of under three seconds, though the brand is yet to confirm what will power it in Australia.
Exlantix’s arrival will further expand Chery’s growing Australian presence. The company returned to Australia in 2023 before introducing Omoda and Jaecoo in 2025, while the new Lepas brand is preparing to begin customer deliveries next month.
But while there are plenty of Chery brands already on sale locally, there are several more that are also due to arrive in 2027, including iCaur, Jetour and Freelander, with the latter developed in a joint venture with Jaguar Land Rover. Chery is also expanding its own line-up in 2027, including the new Stockman diesel plug-in hybrid ute.
Australian pricing, specifications and further launch details for the Exlantix brand are expected to be announced closer to its 2027 introduction.
