Australians will soon have their first opportunity to see the new electric Lexus LFA in person, with the Japanese luxury brand confirming that the gorgeous supercar will be displayed at the 2026 Melbourne Cup Carnival alongside the new TZ electric large SUV.
The futuristic concept will make its Australian debut at Flemington Racecourse, where it will be showcased inside the Lexus pavilion throughout the carnival, which runs from October 31 to November 7.
First revealed globally in December 2025, the LFA Concept previews an electric successor to the legendary first-generation LFA, which was produced between 2010 and 2012. Unlike its predecessor, the new LFA Concept uses an electric drivetrain, though Lexus has yet to confirm details such as performance figures, battery capacity or driving range.

Developed alongside Toyota’s GR GT road car and GR GT3 racer, the electric stunner shares their lightweight aluminium architecture and dramatic styling with a long bonnet and low roofline. Lexus Australia Chief Executive Jack Hobbs said the concept demonstrates how electric performance cars “can still deliver the emotional appeal traditionally associated with combustion-powered supercars”.
“The true significance of the original LFA was never measured by numbers alone. What made it so special was the lasting impression it left on everyone fortunate enough to experience it,” Hobbs said. “The Lexus LFA Concept carries that spirit forward, exploring how electrification can evoke the same sense of excitement, wonder and connection for a new era.”
The LFA Concept won’t be the only new Lexus on display at Flemington, with the upcoming TZ electric SUV and limited-edition RZ 600e F Sport Performance also set to appear at the event.
Lexus is yet to confirm if the electric LFA will eventually be sold in Australia, but its appearance at the Melbourne Cup Carnival will give local enthusiasts a rare opportunity to see what could be the brand’s next flagship performance car.
