The story to here
Michelin is getting ready to release a new-generation tyre from its Pilot Sport series.
A leaked promotional video of the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 has appeared on YouTube in recent days, with some limited product information also being posted to third-party websites – though an official announcement has yet to come from the French tyre company.
The Pilot Super Sport and subsequent Pilot Sport 4 and 4S tyres have long been favourites in the car community, with a number of manufacturers fitting them as standard equipment to performance-oriented models.
Sizes for the new range appear to start from 205/40R17 all the way up to 275/45R20, with all Pilot Sport 5 tyres enjoying the maximum speed index ‘Y’ rating of 300km/h.

It’s not clear yet whether the PS5 will replace the PS4 and PS4S range entirely, with some generations of tyres being sold alongside each other in the past.
WhichCar has contacted Michelin Australia and this story will be updated with its response.
