The story to here
The 2023 Nissan Z is set to land in Australia in mid-2022, heralding a new era of sportscars for the brand.
Nissan will offer the Z with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, sending 298kW and 475Nm through a six-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels.
While it’s months before the Zed’s Australian launch, YouTuber and Nissan enthusiast Jeff, from channel Burnt Rubber, happened to come across a prototype vehicle parked on a street in Sacramento, California.
The test vehicle has clearly seen some action, but if you want to skip ahead to the action, it all starts at the 4.30 mark.

Being a Nissan R35 GT-R owner – and with plans to buy a new Nissan Z as soon as it’s released – Jeff poured over the unlocked car before the (presumed) Nissan engineer returned to the vehicle, offering to give him a “baby launch”.’
The mule was fitted with the optional nine-speed automatic transmission, allowing us to hear Z’s exhaust note as it accelerates through the first three gears.
It may not be a comprehensive review of the final production car, but the video provides a real-world look at what to expect when the 2023 Nissan Z arrives next year.
