- Kia recalls 165 Carnivals
- Faulty door locking mechanism attributed as fault
- Owners encouraged to contact Kia
Korean manufacturer Kia has recalled its 2021 Carnival over a potentially faulty rear door mechanism.
Affecting just 165 MY21 and MY22 units, the fault can be found in the right-hand sliding door, preventing it from latching properly and being stuck in its “open” position.
This could potentially lead to the door opening while driving, causing a greater risk of injury to its occupant.

Kia is encouraging any owners to contact their nearest dealer to arrange an inspection and repair, free of charge.
Alternatively, those who are unsure as to whether their vehicle is affected can contact Kia’s Australian customer service line on 131 542 or [email protected]
A list of VINs for affected vehicles can be found here.
