Hyundai has revealed the next generation i30 Sedan in its South Korea homeland at the Busan Mobility Show. It’s been previewed through its native Avante naming — the i30 Sedan has always been named Avante in its home market — and is likely to launch in Australia in the first half of 2027.
The current i30 Sedan is known for its angular design, and the new model is even more radical to look at, with more than a few elements from the N Vision 74 Concept from 2022. Its styling looks visually larger than the current model and it is, with an increase in length by 55mm, as well as a 30mm longer wheelbase for even more rear legroom.
Overall, the new i30 Sedan measures 4765mm long, 1855mm wide, 1425mm tall and rides on a 2750mm long wheelbase, making it only 145mm shorter in length than the mid-size Sonata.

Inside, the new i30 Sedan features the new-generation ‘Pleos Connect’ infotainment system that recently debuted in the Ioniq 3 electric hatchback, and the screen will be available in either 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch sizes, both of which are much larger than the 8.0-inch or 10.25-inch screens in the current car.
The materials used appear to be higher quality than the current model, with padded surfaces on the dashboard and centre console, with ambient lighting helping add a more high-tech feel. There also seems to be more storage space, like the large cup holder and wireless phone charger section on the passenger side of the centre console.
Under the bonnet, in South Korea at least, the new i30 Sedan uses the same 2.0-litre naturally aspirated and 1.6-litre hybrid drivetrains. The petrol continues to make 110kW/180Nm outputs and is again mated to a CVT automatic transmission, while the hybrid now makes 115kW of power (up 11kW) and its battery is larger for more efficiency.

Like the current model, a new-generation i30 Sedan N will be produced eventually, likely with a larger 2.5-litre turbo-petrol engine replacing the current model’s smaller 2.0-litre engine.
The new i30 Sedan will be likely the only new i30 variant available as it looks likely that there will not be another generation of the i30 hatchback. The only i30 hatchback now available in Australia is the high-performance N variant.
The new Hyundai i30 Sedan will likely go on sale in Australia sometime in 2027, with local pricing and specifications to be confirmed before then.
