Key Points

  • At least 592 vehicles under recall
  • Potential for seatbelt warning to not activate
  • Owners are encouraged to contact local Volkswagen dealers

The 2020 and 2021 Volkswagen T-Cross has been recalled, owing to a potentially faulty seatbelt warning.

Affecting a total of 593 vehicles sold in Australia since the model’s launch last year, the issue is due to the audible and visual seatbelt warning not functioning continuously if a belt isn’t fastened, meaning an occupant could be unrestrained without the driver’s knowledge.

Of the 7871 units sold between the launch date of the T-Cross in 2020 to the end of October 2021, the recalled vehicles represent just under eight per cent of all examples delivered.
