Key Points
- At least 592 vehicles under recall
- Potential for seatbelt warning to not activate
- Owners are encouraged to contact local Volkswagen dealers
The 2020 and 2021 Volkswagen T-Cross has been recalled, owing to a potentially faulty seatbelt warning.
Affecting a total of 593 vehicles sold in Australia since the model’s launch last year, the issue is due to the audible and visual seatbelt warning not functioning continuously if a belt isn’t fastened, meaning an occupant could be unrestrained without the driver’s knowledge.
Of the 7871 units sold between the launch date of the T-Cross in 2020 to the end of October 2021, the recalled vehicles represent just under eight per cent of all examples delivered.

Volkswagen is encouraging affected customers to contact their nearest dealer to arrange an inspection and replacement of the necessary parts, free of charge.
Any T-Cross owner who is unsure as to whether their car is affected can contact Volkswagen’s recall department on 1800 504 076 or [email protected]
