Honda Australia has released the first teaser image of its upcoming Avancier SUV, signalling the arrival of a new model that could become the brand’s flagship family vehicle.

While Honda is keeping specifications and launch timing under wraps, the teaser reveals a boxy silhouette, distinctive lighting and a substantial road presence.

International reports suggest the new Avancier will be a seven-seat SUV positioned above the CR-V, potentially competing with the Toyota Kluger, Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento.

The Avancier name isn’t new. Honda has sold a five-seat SUV under that badge in China since 2016 (below), although the forthcoming model is expected to be substantially different.

According to reports from Japan and Southeast Asia, the new Avancier will be manufactured in Thailand from early 2027, with right-hand-drive production planned for regional markets.

A next-generation version of Honda’s e hybrid system is also expected, although engine specifications, battery capacity and performance figures remain unconfirmed.

The Avancier could fill a significant gap in Honda’s Australian range, which currently lacks a dedicated large seven-seat SUV.

Its arrival would follow a busy 2026 for Honda Australia, including the introduction of the revived Prelude coupe and electric Super-ONE, alongside expanded hybrid offerings across the CR-V and ZR-V ranges.

Honda says further details will be announced soon.
