Suzuki has unveiled its latest concept car, a hybrid motorcycle-powered roadster available to race in Gran Turismo 7’s latest update.

While there’s currently no real-deal version of the sportscar in existence, Suzuki’s Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) is powered by a GSX1300R-sourced Hayabusa 1.3-litre inline four, paired to three electric motors: two on the front axle, and one powering the rear for an all wheel drive layout.
With a screaming redline of 9900rpm, the 970kg virtual package is capable of a combined 318kW and 610Nm of torque, which peaks at 3000rpm.

Visually, the design pulls much of its inspiration from the Swift Sport, aping the hot hatch’s hero Champion Yellow, wheel package, and front end treatment.

It’s not the first time Suzuki has dreamed up a Hayabusa-powered roadster. The genesis of the VGT can be traced back to 2001’s GSX-R/4 concept, which debuted at that year’s Frankfurt Motor Show and subsequently appeared in Gran Turismo 4.
The ICE-only car was rated at 129kW, tipping the scales at just 640kg with more fantastical bodywork.
Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital says a Gr.3 racing version of the VGT will soon appear in the game, though Suzuki has so far remained tight-lipped as to a physical version of the concept.

The free update for Gran Turismo 7 also brings the pro-touring Roadster Shop Rampage Camaro and Toyota’s GR010 Hybrid racer to the game’s roster.
