The mapping system comes as part of a 7-inch touchscreen system with digital audio and voice activation, and it accounts for the $700 increase for the RZ, now $29,190.

Other features carry over from the mid-year RZ. They include sports suspension and more direct steering from the Camry Atara SX, 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels with low-profile tyres, styling tweaks such as a mesh grille and bootlid spoiler, dual-zone climate control, premium steering wheel, and keyless entry and engine start.

A twin exhaust system lifts power and torque to match the 135kW and 235Nm produced by the Camry Atara models – 2kW and 4Nm above the outputs of the base model Altise on which the RZ is based.

Toyota says the RZ’s extras are worth $5000 while the price tag is only $2700 above the Altise.
