XPeng has used the platform of the Paris Motor Show to reveal more details about its upcoming G9L large SUV, including the vehicle’s impressive 1200km driving range, ultra-fast charging capabilities and a luxurious seven-seat interior.
Already confirmed for an Australian arrival at the end of 2026 or early 2027, the G9L will be XPeng’s largest model locally, joining the G6 medium SUV, X9 people mover and upcoming L03 small SUV in local showrooms.

At 5120mm long, 1998mm wide and 1788mm tall, with a 3100mm wheelbase, the G9L is a sizeable SUV and will be offered globally with either six- or seven-seat configurations, along with a choice of fully electric and range-extender electric powertrains.
The headline variant uses XPeng’s new ‘Kunpeng Super Electric’ range-extender tech that combines a 63kWh LFP battery with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that acts solely as a generator, rather than directly driving the wheels.
According to XPeng, the system provides up to 287km of electric driving range on the WLTP cycle, which increases to 1200km when the petrol range extender is factored in. It outputs 430kW of power and 695Nm of torque, and the range-extender model can accelerate from 0-100km/h in a claimed 5.4 seconds.
A fully electric version will also be available, featuring a larger 110kWh battery and the same 430kW/695Nm outputs. XPeng claims a WLTP driving range of up to 553km. Both powertrains use an 800-volt electrical architecture, allowing a 10-80 per cent recharge in as little as 12 minutes.

Inside, XPeng has reportedly focused heavily on passenger comfort, with Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, massage functionality for the first two rows and electrically adjustable third-row seating. Other equipment highlights include a 26-speaker sound system, an integrated refrigerator, rear passenger entertainment screen and a zero-gravity front passenger seat.
The G9L will also feature XPeng’s next-generation assisted driving technology, which uses artificial intelligence to navigate complex urban and highway environments, which the company plans to introduce locally in 2027.
XPeng says final Aussie pricing, specifications and launch timing will be announced in the coming months.
