PLUS

  • Engine. All Kugas have turbocharged engines, and they’re all good. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder is an especially sporty drive.
  • Room. There’s lots of it. The front seats are great and back seat passengers are especially well catered for with tray tables and a reclinable seat back.
  • Handling. Most SUVs don’t cut the mustard for driving enjoyment, but the Kuga does. Its handling and steering are exceptional.
  • Safety. Ford has included lots of driver aids as well as an emergency assistance function that will connect with emergency services in the event of a crash where the airbag deploys.
MINUS
  • Interior. The Kuga does suffer from some packaging niggles including a bulky dashboard and somewhat less than intuitive infotainment system that takes getting used to.
  • Thirst. If you opt for the sportier Kuga models you may find yourself using a fair swig more petrol than other similar vehicles.
