Nissan Qashqai

The Nissan Qashqai is the small SUV for people that want something a bit more sensible than its funky sibling, the Juke. Fitted with a with a 2.0-litre petrol engine, the Qashqai has a more spacious interior and extra luggage space compared to its sibling.

First launched in 2006, the Nissan Qashqai has proven to be popular with customers both in Australia and overseas. In North America the Qashqai is badged as the Rogue Sport. This second-generation car was first launched in 2013, and received an update in 2017.

As a small affordable SUV, the Qashqai starts at under $30,000, and the most expensive model is less than $40,000. Each variants if fitted with a generous amount of standard equipment.

The small SUV segment is very competitive, and the Qashqai is positioned to rival the likes of the Toyota C-HR, Kia Seltos, Mazda CX-3, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Venue and Kona, and Mitsubishi ASX.

All Nissan Qashqai variants have a 65-litre fuel tank capacity. Depending on you fuel economy, this should allow the Qashqai to travel up to 900 kilometres on a single tank of fuel (providing you can match Nissan’s claimed 6.5L/100km efficiency).

If you keyfob has stopped working you can still start the Nissan Qashqai. If there is a port to place the fob, put it there as you press the brake and START/STOP button at the same time. If there is no port, hold your fob against the START/STOP button as you press it and simultaneously put your foot on the brake.

DCI stands for common rail diesel injection, and is used to denote if that particular Qashqai variant is fitted with a diesel engine. Nissan no longer sells diesel-powered Qashqais from the factory in Australia.
