Audi Australia is recalling one of its RSQ8s due to a fault which could cause potential engine damage.

The German carmaker has issued a notice for just one 2021 RSQ8.

According to the Department of Infrastructure, a crack may occur on the cylinder contact surface in the engine and the piston may be damaged or seize.

If the piston gets jammed in the cylinder, it would lead to engine damage. Additionally, the possibility of the conrod being torn off and the crankcase being pierced, and subsequently of oil escaping, cannot be ruled out – which could result in the engine stalling, losing power and potentially leading to an accident.

The VIN for the vehicle involved is WUAZZZF11MD011849.

Audi has asked the owner of the affected vehicle to schedule a service at their nearest authorised dealership, advising of the recall, to have the work carried out free of charge. Until the work has been carried out the car can be used as normal.

Or for further information Audi can be contacted on: 1800 502 834
