German manufacturer Porsche has issued a recall notice for Boxster and Cayman models built between 2012 and 2014.

Affecting a total of 310 units, an apparent manufacturing defect means the vehicle's rear suspension may fail under extreme driving conditions, leading to a loss of control.

Porsche hasn't provided details as to which specific variants of the Boxster and Cayman are affected, but the 310 vehicles under recall represents just under a third of all models sold over the three-year time period, as Porsche shifted 1051 units of the two models between 2012 and 2014.
