Toyota Australia has announced that orders for the LandCruiser 70 Series are now open again after a stop sale of 12 months due to supply constraints causing long wait times, as well as non-compliance with new Euro 6 emissions regulations that went into force locally in late 2025. Because of that, the 70 Series now features AdBlue injection with a 20-litre tank for emissions compliance, but only variants with the six-speed automatic transmission are available to order.
As a result, buyers are now available to order the full range of automatic LandCruiser 76 Series wagon, 78 Series Troop Carrier and 79 Series pickup bodystyles. However, manual versions of the 78 Series, 79 Series Double Cab-Chassis, and 76 Series GXL Wagon remain off sale for the time being.
For the 76 Series, 78 Series, and 79 Series Double Cab-Chassis, the AdBlue refuelling port is located above the front left fender with a lockable key lid. For Single Cab-Chassis grades, it’s located on the left side of the vehicle between the cab and rear wheels.

Alongside the new AdBlue tank, the 78 Series Troop Carrier grades see a smaller fuel tank, which has decreased from 180 litres to 130 litres to match other 70 Series variants.
Under the bonnet, the 150kW/500Nm 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine — also used in Toyota products like the HiLux and Prado — remains unchanged, as does the six-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive system. The 4.5-litre V8 turbo-diesel remains off sale, as do all manual variants.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations John Pappas said that the resumption of production enabled Toyota to meet the needs of customers across Australia, particularly those in rural and regional areas that rely on the LandCruiser 70 Series.
“After pausing orders for certain LandCruiser 70 Series in 2025 to manage customer expectations around vehicle supply challenges, we are excited to say that order books are now back open,” Mr Pappas said.
Orders for the Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series are now open ahead of Australian production commencing from next month before Australian arrivals sometime afterwards.
