• The Mercedes-Benz X-Class ute will come in three main design and equipment lines ranging from the workmanlike Pure to the rugged but stylish Progressive and the high-end, full featured Power grade.
  • According to Mercedes the X-Class can carry 17 full 50-litre barrels of beer in the cargo area. How about that for a uniquely German metric.
  • Its 3.5 tonne maximum towing capacity allows the X-Class to “pull a trailer containing three horses or an eight-metre yacht”.

  • The top-spec 3.0-litre V6 turbo is very much a product of the German carmaker and produced 190kW/550Nm, significantly more than the Ford Ranger Wildtrak (147kW/470Nm), Toyota Hilux SR5 (130kW/450Nm) and Volkswagen Amarok V6 (165kW/550Nm).
  • Australia will be one of the X-Class’s five core markets and it is expected to boost Mercedes-Benz sales here by up to 10 percent.
