Hennessey Special Vehicles, the Texas-based tuner and manufacturer of the Venom that’s one of the fastest production cars ever, has revealed the next step in its Venom lineup. Called the Venom F5-M, it’s the first manual production car from Hennessey and will make its debut at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. According to Hennessey, the Venom F5-M “redefines driving for the most passionate high-performance hypercar enthusiasts.”

Combining elements from different Venom models, like the revised aerodynamics and more powerful engine tune of the Evolution with a manual transmission and roadster body, the Venom F5-M is the world’s most powerful manual hypercar.

At the heart of the Venom F5-M is a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which makes, wait for it, 1515kW of power and 1960Nm of torque. But, unlike the standard Venom which uses a seven-speed single-clutch automated manual transmission, the F5-M uses a gated six-speed manual with a clutch pedal. Its grunt is sent solely to the rear wheels.

Performance figures for the F5-M are yet to be released, but the standard Venom is known for its performance, including setting a world record for the fastest half mile (0-800m) in just 14.4 seconds at a dizzying 353km/h, while it has reportedly hit more than 270mph (435km/h) in testing too. The 0-60mph (97km/h) sprint for the standard F5 takes around 2.6 seconds, and it hits 200mph (322km/h) in just 10.3 seconds.

John Hennessey, company founder and CEO said “We’ve always believed the Venom F5 delivers the most intense performance experience on the planet – but with the F5-M, we’ve gone even further. A gated six-speed manual puts the driver completely in control, while the open-top design brings the Fury V8 sound directly into the cockpit. The noise, the feel, and the power delivery are raw and unfiltered – it’s the most all-consuming driving experience we’ve created!”

The first production example of the F5-M is shown in these press photos and it belongs to a UK customer. Set to debut at Goodwood, it’s finished in an exposed purple carbon colour with anodised gold accents.

The owner also utilised Hennessey’s special ‘Maverick’ division to add bespoke exterior and interior features to their F5-M, including a 24-karat gold nose badge and placing the family name ‘Sheikh’ on the rear of the car and stitching it inside too, on the driver and passenger knee pads.

Pricing for the Venom F5-M starts at US$2.65 million (A$3.81 million at current exchange rates), though the F5-M that will be shown at Goodwood will likely have cost more considering its special paintwork. Only 12 F5-Ms will be produced, and Hennessey says that it’s delivered over 40 Venom F5 models globally so far.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed will run this week from July 9 to 12.
