GWM has lifted the covers off the next-generation Haval H6 medium SUV ahead of an early 2027 Australian release date. Despite the current H6 only recently receiving an extensive mid-life facelift with updated styling, new tech and plug-in hybrid drivetrains in 2025, the next-generation H6 introduces improved drivetrains, more in-car technology and a larger body than the current model.
On the outside, the new version of GWM‘s second best-selling model locally receives a new and more modern look with wraparound front and rear lighting units, a sleeker glasshouse and a more raked rear section. It’s also larger than the current model, with its wheelbase of 4780mm length and 2800mm long, 77mm and 62mm longer respectively.
Inside, the new Haval H6 earns a larger 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a huge 14.6-inch touchscreen with the brand’s latest ‘Coffee OS’ software and a more modern dashboard layout. The extra length should account for extra interior space, which will further improve on the already-spacious current H6.

As for drivetrains, like the current H6, there will be a wide range on offer. In China, 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbo-petrols are the petrol options, plus a 1.5-litre turbo hybrid in either front- or all-wheel drive forms and a 1.5-litre turbo plug-in hybrid, again with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The news follows recent confirmation that GWM Australia will add the Jolion Max to the line-up by the end of 2026 to fit in between the Jolion small SUV and H6 mid-sizer. Full Australian details about the new GWM Haval H6 will be revealed towards its early 2027 local launch.
