Nissan Patrol

The Nissan Patrol is a large SUV with a focus on 4x4 off-roading. It's also the largest car offered from the Japanese manufacturer.

Within Nissan's own line-up, the Nissan Patrol (also known as the Patrol Y62) dwarfs regular SUVs such as the Pathfinder, X-Trail and Qashqai both in terms of size and price.

Speaking of price, the Nissan Patrol range starts in the high $70,000 range and extends to over $90,000 for the best-equipped variant.

The Nissan Patrol is one of the last real 4x4s of its kind, featuring seating for seven and a great big 5.6-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine.

As well, its unusual and technically advanced suspension combines on-road handling impressively with off road ability. It also has a sophisticated dual-range four-wheel drive system.

The Nissan Patrol competes with few other cars, but the Toyota LandCruiser and Land Rover Discovery are cross-shopped against it.

What is the towing capacity of the Nissan Patrol?

The Nissan Patrol is rated to tow 3500kg, which matches similar big 4WD wagons and the best of the 4WD dual-cab utes. It has plenty of power for towing very heavy loads.

Where is the Nissan Patrol made?

The Nissan Patrol is manufactured in Japan.

Are Nissan Patrols reliable?

There are plenty of older Nissan Patrols still running around on Australian roads - they're built tough and to last a lifetime. Nissan warrants it for five years with an unlimited kilometre warranty but it will run for far longer than that.
