About Honda
Honda’s various products including marine engines, motorcycles and cars have been on sale in Australia since the 1950s, but the company was officially established as a subsidiary in early 1969 – the first of its kind for Honda anywhere in the world.
During its evolution, the Japanese carmaker has produced some notable models including two generations of the NSX mid-engined supercar, although its range of Type R high-performance models is arguably more deserving of the title as Honda’s heroes.
In recent years, the company has trimmed the number of models and variants within each family with a focus on fewer but more premium offerings. The line-up currently consists of the Civic hatchback, Accord sedan, and HR-V, ZR-V and CR-V SUVs.
Honda Australia is also noted as being the first mainstream brand to introduce a nationwide agency model for its dealership network, which it did in 2020 along with a national fixed price strategy.
