BYD
Chinese automaker BYD, short for Build Your Dreams, was founded in 1995 and began deliveries in Australia in 2022.
Since launching with the Atto 3, BYD has expanded to offer a broader portfolio of EVs (and some plug-in hybrids) in Australia, including the Dolphin hatch, the Seal sedan, Sealion 6 and Sealion 7 SUVs, and the Shark 6 ute.
Positioned competitively across multiple segments, BYD’s mission is to accelerate the transition to clean energy by reducing vehicle emissions and fossil-fuel dependence.
